Katie has worked on a variety of projects across the UK as a commercial archaeologist since graduating from Cardiff University in 2016. She went on to achieve a distinction in MSc Archaeological Practice at the University of the Highlands and Islands, before joining AOC Archaeology in 2018.
Katie has worked on a wide variety of site-types and periods across Britain but maintains a particular research interest in the Neolithic and Early Bronze Age of the British Isles. Since joining AOC Archaeology she has been involved in large-scale infrastructure projects as well as smaller monitoring works, archaeological evaluations, and excavations. This has ranged from rural greenfield sites to multi-period urban excavations and human remains call-off contracts. She has been responsible for producing and contributing to reports, desk based assessments, research designs, and method statements. Additionally, she has enjoyed contributing to multiple community archaeology projects. More recently, Katie has led the excavation of the substantial remains of the 18th - 19th century Edinburgh and Leith Glassworks and the wetland Iron Age
