Salvage Work at Historic Clandon Park

On 29th April 2015, a serious fire broke out at Clandon Park, near Guildford in Surrey. A prestigious National Trust property, the fire devastated the building. In the autumn of 2015, AOC was privileged to excavate inside the building and recover objects damaged by the fire and salvage what remains of the structure’s fixtures and fittings.

Built in the 1720s for Lord Onslow, Clandon Park was one of the country’s most complete examples of a Palladian mansion, with fine ceilings and fireplaces.
