Dani Shacklock

Archaeologist

Dani studied Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh. She subsequently completed a Masters in Funerary Archaeology at the University of Sheffield in 2019 with a dissertation focus on the post-excavation techniques of photogrammetry and structured light scanning.

Dani joined AOC in May 2020 and is now based out of the York office, developing her skills in excavation, recording and surveying across a wide range of sites. She has worked on multiple sites related to large-scale infrastructure projects, ranging in scope from trial trenching to vast open area excavations. Due to her osteoarchaeological background, Dani has also acted as an osteological supervisor at an urban cemetery site, helping to identify and record human remains within deep keyhole excavations involving complex urban stratigraphy dating back to the Roman period.
