Peta Glew BA (Hons) MLitt ACIfA FSA (Scot)
Project Officer
Peta joined AOC as a Project Officer in December 2019. She is a senior level archaeologist with demonstrable experience of organisational governance, project and site management. Prior to joining AOC, Peta has worked for 20 years in commercial and research archaeology in a variety of contexts, from Prehistoric landscape projects to urban industrial sites, in locations all over the UK. She has a particular interest in technical archaeological survey, with experience of standing building survey, and expertise in geophysical and topographic surveys.
Since returning to Scotland in 2007, Peta has worked on numerous linear infrastructure projects including: the M74 completion project in Glasgow; as an Archaeological Clerk of Works on the Beauly to Denny 400kV OHL project and its associated rationalisation works through out the construction programme; Gas diversion works for the Aberdeen bypass; and cable replacement at Torness Power Station, East Lothian.
Alongside the more commercial projects, Peta also has extensive experience of delivering community heritage projects, including the Killearn Community Archaeology Project in Stirlingshire, which included the production of a woodland management plan; conducting Geophysical surveys on the Orry in Eaglesham, East Renfrewshire; and numerous small HLF funded projects in and around Glasgow.

Killearn Community Archaeology Project (2016)
Site director for a series of multidisciplinary community engagements and investigations with the heritage of local historic woodland on the edge of the village.
Tigh Mor – Clan Gregor Excavations (2015 – 2016)
Excavations at TIgh Mor, a 12th-13th century dwelling and smelting/smithing site overlooking Loch Awe at the mouth of Glen Strae.
Geophysical Survey of ‘The Orry’, Eaglesham – Project Manager (2010 & 2017)
Phase 1- Geophysical survey working with members of Glasgow Archaeological Society and ACFA to deliver a high level Gradiometry Survey; Phase 2 – Geophysical Survey and Schools engagement working with volunteers to investigate new areas of the Orry
