Sam completed an Archaeology degree at the University of Edinburgh in 2013 and joined AOC in 2015. She has extensive fieldwork experience on small to large-scale projects in Scotland which include archaeological evaluations, excavations, watching briefs, walkover surveys and historic building recording, as well as the preparation of Written Schemes of Investigation, Desk-Based Assessments, fieldwork reports and publications.
She is now based in consultancy where she utilises the skills and knowledge gained from her background in fieldwork to advise clients on best practice and appropriate mitigation strategies with regard to working with the historic environment.
Sam’s interests include the Scottish Iron Age and the post-medieval Highland landscape. She is a voluntary committee member for the Rosemarkie Caves Project and is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA).
