After graduating from the University of Aberdeen in 2012 with a degree in archaeology, Sarah worked in commercial archaeology gaining experience on a variety of excavations ranging from prehistoric to early Victorian sites. During her time at university, she developed an interest in working with finds, including Inuit material from Alaska.

Since joining AOC in 2016, Sarah has worked with both the conservation and post-excavation teams on a variety of projects, undertaking different tasks including the cataloguing and identification of archaeological material from various sites around Scotland, publication photography of finds and basic conservation practices (both preventative and practical). In addition to this, Sarah also has extensive experience with the preparation of archaeological archives for deposition, including the artefactual assemblages, the primary paper records, and the digital files.

Since April 2023, Sarah has been the archiving project supervisor focussing solely on archaeological archiving for the Scottish offices.
