Geoarchaeological assessment and deposit modelling is increasingly required by local authorities to support and inform planning applications. AOC’s deposit models are produced using RockWorks 17 geological utilities software and provide an effective strategy for investigating the subsurface stratigraphy and the potential for the preservation of associated paleoenvironmental and archaeological remains. Our deposit models and associated geoarchaeological desk-based assessments can be used to form a basis for discussions regarding appropriate archaeological mitigation strategies and are particularly useful for sites in complex riverine or urban landscapes with deep stratigraphy.
